U-lite now breaks the fifties range
and why shouldn't it. It is way better than puppy or tinyme, with better security, repos and support. It is so under appreciated!
Another kick
please try to keep this at the top of the active forum topics list.

Keep it going!!!!
It's just amazing on an old box that can't run anything else properly (> Win 98) ..... Now I've got used to the amazingly non-intuitive configuration of kasehakase, I really love that browser. Please consider a sensibly customised version for the distro. Also, pyNeighborhood configured to run as root would be good as part of the installation.
Hope it Keeps Climbing!
Wow... it's a minor hassle to get and update the latest repositories (Abiword, for example, needed to be updated from an additional repository), but once that's done, omygoodness! U-Lite just flies on my old machine!
I was using Crunchbang Linux which I customized by adding the LXDE desktop to it, but it was kinda buggy, and the shutdown routine was scary, having to FORCE shutdown and then worry if I hurt my computer by doing that. In U-Lite that problem is gone.
All the beauty and simplicity of an old Windows desktop, but mind-bending speed! I love it! Now here's another reason to use U-lite:
I've been reading several posts in the Ubuntu forums in which Jaunty users note frequent 100% CPU usage (especially when running Firefox or watching videos) and very high temperatures - enough to make laptops shut down from overheating! I got my new Jaunty disk in the mail yestareday but frankly, I'm scared to install it even on my newer machine until I hear that this issue has been resolved.
